As ABoR’s Chief Financial Officer, Monica ensures everything runs smoothly, on time, and under budget when it comes to managing ABoR’s Finance, Human Resources, and Facilities departments. She and her team are responsible for the Association’s financial functions—including reporting, auditing, tax, and investments—providing financial stability for ABoR long-term as we continue pursuing a bold vision for the future of the organization.
Monica’s tenure with ABoR began in 2014, when she joined the team with over 25 years of management experience and three decades working as a CPA. She came to us with an enthusiasm to apply what she learned in corporate America to an Association and nonprofit setting. Monica received her B.B.A. in Accounting and Finance from The University of Akron. She takes her commitment to ongoing professional and personal development seriously and applies that same enthusiasm toward her pursuit of the Society of Human Resources Senior Certified Professional designation. Her work with SHRM ensures ABoR is up to speed on the latest best practices when it comes to caring for our dream team.
In addition to her six-year involvement with the ABoR Foundation, Monica was a Girl Scout of America Troop Leader for 14 years and Mobile Loaves and Fishes Emmaus Volunteer Coordinator for 10. Monica even conceived and created Crosswind Playground Inc., a nonprofit that built a public playground in Spicewood, where she lives. She balances her love of watching movies with working out at the gym and can be found waterskiing and hiking in her spare time. Her favorite accomplishment in life has been raising her two daughters, who are at the beginning of their professional careers. | |
