Leadership Opportunities

Every year, our Boards of Directors election offers members the opportunity to secure a seat at the table. If you are looking for a way to make sure your voice is heard on the issues affecting the association and our industry, consider a leadership position as your avenue to make a lasting impression. Make your mark and lend your expertise and experience to the Unlock MLS and ABoR Boards of Directors as we work to create a diverse leadership roster, representative of the vibrant Central Texas community we serve.  

Texas REALTORS® Regional Vice President

The individuals serving as Regional Vice Presidents for the Texas Association of REALTORS (TAR) are the major link between TAR and the local associations and/or membership. The local associations serve as the major conduit for information to the membership. The success or failure of TAR rests squarely on the shoulders of these volunteers who give their time and energy to serve as Regional Vice Presidents.

Texas REALTORS® Director

The Texas Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors is responsible for governing the Association (Article V, Section 7(d) of the TAR Bylaws). Among other things, the Board of Directors has the authority to:

• Amend the TAR bylaws

• Elect officers and regional representatives

• Approve expenditures from general reserves that exceed 10 percent of the annual budget

• Approve the strategic plan

• Approve an increase in membership dues

• Define regional boundaries

• Elect Nominating Committee members and alternates in the respective regional caucus meetings held during the annual convention

National Association of REALTORS® Director

The NAR Board of Directors is responsible for governing the Association (see Articles IV and VII of the NAR Constitution). The NAR Board of Directors has the authority to:

• Approve Association expenditures

• Set membership dues

• Set public policy positions as they pertain to the real estate industry

• Establish governing policies of the Association

• Approve member programs, products, and services

• Approve amendments to the NAR Bylaws and recommend amendments to the NAR Constitution and Code of Ethics to the NAR Delegate Body
